After you've taken that first important step, here's how the program will work. You complete all the work in your own home, independently, at your own speed. There are no classes. Books are easy-to-read print. Each subject has one book and one open-book multiple choice exams. An instructor at the school grades it, adding useful comments. He/she personally works in your exam. No computers or machines are used. For each subject finished, you receive a Certificate of Completion, beautifully engraved on gold parchment, suitable for framing.

Are you experienced in a job? Active in community or Church? Do you have special talents? For these and other accomplishments, American Academy awards credits and brings you closer to high school graduation. Here's how it works. We'll ask you to fill our Experience Profile form. In it, you'll list your previous schools, your job experience, volunteer or Church work, military service, child care, travel, foreign language skill, music or singing talent, and even marriage. Also in it, you may request subjects you need/want , and what experience credit you feel you qualify for.

Your GRADE POINT AVERAGE. You Name It!

Let's say you get a C or B in your science open-book exam. And you want to try for an A. Just re-take the exam when you're ready. Your instructor will add specific suggestions which should get the job done.

THE CHALLENGE EXAMS

Want to shorten the time to high school graduation? You can complete requirements for many (or all) subjects by taking certain nationally published exams in your home. Exams are available in English, Spanish and French. They test your ability to READ high school level material. They DO NOT test how many facts you've memorized. All questions are multiple choice. There is no passing LETTER grade. Your score is compared to thousands of others like you who've taken the same exam in all 50 states and Canada. Your number of correct answers gives you a "rank", such as top 10% or top 50%. etc.. If you don't get a high enough "ranking" you can re-take the exam immediately, until you qualify.

COLLEGE - OR YOUR MONEY BACK

If a high school graduate of American Academy is not accepted by a college, he/she will receive a full refund of tuition paid to American Academy. Also, he/she will be reimbursed for the college application fee. (Certain restrictions and rules apply. Full details available upon request).

THE AMERICAN ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA
NOT A GED

American Academy is a Private School and awards a high school diploma, not something "equivalent" to a diploma. And that could be very important to you. "There is an image crisis among educators and researchers over the value of the equivalency diploma. Many small colleges and some employers will never look twice at the GED". 3 STEPS TO YOUR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA

Step 1 Enrollment application.
Fill out and return it to American Academy, along with your tuition payment or down payment.

Step 2 Acceptance as a student.
Immediately after we receive your completed enrollment application, we'll send you the materials for your first subject. We'll also include your student ID card and the Experience Profile form.

Step 3 Fill out the Experience Profile form
And return it to the school. We'll then prepare your Total graduation program including the suggested time required, and what credits you've been awarded for experience.
